The Domaine of La Baïlesse is situated in the heart of the Tarn, a beautiful region of South-West France famous for its rolling landscapes, generous hospitality and good food .
This area is drenched in history situated within a richly diverse landscape of mountains, rivers, lakes and woodlands. You can explore ancient hilltop villages, once brave Cathar strongholds and absorb the cultural offerings of medieval Albi and its cathedral. Gloriously stocked daily markets and the local Gaillac vineyards will ensure your sensory delight.
La Baïlesse is set in 12 acres of park and oak woods, guarded by watchful owls.
It nestles romantically amongst undulating hills and fields of sunflowers,
within easy reach of cultural, sporting and commercial facilties and just one hour from Toulouse.
The impressive, 18th century Manor House, which overlooks the park, offers two lovely rooms for peaceful B&B visits.
Separately on the other side of the estate, is La Vieille Ferme, our luxury self catering gite, a lovingly restored stone farmhouse.
The large, salt filtered swimming pool, landscaped by olives trees and ancient French oaks, is a tranquil place to unwind and forget the outside world.
The Scottish owners, John and Joan Raffin, fell in love with the area and put down roots. John, a chartered surveyor, is enjoying restoring the buildings to the cherished state they deserve. Joan [Clifton] a garden designer and writer, is occupied in creating a very special landscape.
For those seeking their own French idyll, John is available for professional property search and appraisal services.
John and Joan look forward to welcoming you,
to sharing their extensive knowledge of the area and helping to make your holiday a special experience.
