When we undertook the restoration of the old farmhouse, our aim was to retain the integrity of the ancient stone building whilst creating a comfortable living space with modern amenities.
We have retained the beamed ceilings and some original windows to keep the character but have painted throughout in pale colours to enhance the luminosity. The kitchen and bathrooms have completely new flooring and equipment while the sitting room keeps its original terra-cotta ‘tomette’ paving.
The overall effect is of cosy chic: a house full of charm with lots of light, stylish decorations, pictures on the walls and a friendly ambiance. It is a house suited equally to families, groups of friends and for couples looking for an intimate getaway.
The house is entered from a large private courtyard that separates it from the swimming pool.
Ground floor
The spacious sitting room is well furnished with comfortable sofas, a desk, TV, DVD, books, DVD library, games. Wi-fi internet connection is included. A log burning stove and oil fired central heating are perfect for low season visits.
The family sized kitchen/dining room is modern, bright and very well equipped. It is fitted with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. The large dining table seats 6/8 people and there is plenty of attractive table ware, glass, cook ware and utensils. There is a high chair for little ones.
The kitchen opens directly onto the outdoor dining terrace. A separate utility room houses the washing machine, iron, ironing board and drying area.
Upper floor
Bedroom 1, the romantic master suite, benefits from a 1.60 cm double bed with en-suite bathroom with walk in shower, wash basin and wc.
Bedroom 2 is fitted with two single 0.90 cm beds that can be made up as a double if required.
Bedroom 3, a lovely room with lots of privacy, has an intimate ambiance and a 1.40 cm double bed.

All your household linen, bed linen and towels are provided and changed weekly. High quality linen is used throughout and your beds are made up ready for your arrival. Soaps and toiletries are supplied for your arrival. Constant hot water is provided. A child’s cot with mattress, a high chair and a security gate are available.
We regret that we are not able to accommodate pets at the property.
Exterior
The exterior surroundings of the gite have been given special attention and have been transformed from a working farmyard to a relaxing and verdant landscaped haven.
The heated private pool
It measures a generous 10.00 m x 5.00 m plus wide Roman steps, to provide easy access for children and the cautious. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols to relax.
It is fully secured and landscaped sensitively with olive trees and Mediterranean planting. Ancient oak trees provide a leafy and sympathetic backdrop.
The modern, salt generated filtration system ensures softness and comfort for the skin. The heating pump helps to provide a comfortable temperature through the season.
The private dining terrace can be accessed directly from the kitchen and from the pool area.
The terrace occupies an elevated position with views over the surrounding rolling countryside. It is flanked on one side by the ancient stone bread oven, which adds a stylish backdrop. A spreading mulberry tree provides shade while cascades of honeysuckle scent the air through summer………..oh and the sunset views are quite magical. Pots of flowers and herbs add to the atmosphere.
The large dining table and chairs seating 8, parasols and a barbecue are all you need for wonderful outdoor meals.
The large courtyard between the gite and the pool is perfect for playing boules and an additional shaded seating area provides a quiet hideaway. A huge grassy garden beyond the terrace gives plenty of space for children to play and a woodland area nearby invites exploration.
A private parking area behind the bread oven is within easy reach of the gite.
