Chambre D’hôtes

Our philosophy at La Bailesse Chambre d’Hôtes is to offer a tranquil, peaceful retreat for a small number of guests who can have complete privacy or come and go as part of the family, as they wish.

The rooms are in the 18^th century Manor House on the ‘garden’ side of the estate, which enjoys its own special ambiance and views.

You are free to ramble in the gardens and follow the wandering path to the old orchard.   You may prefer to read in the charmille, under the limes and horse chestnuts, or find a corner of the romantic gated garden with its ancient Magnolia tree.

Meals may be served in the beamed dining room, on an imposing table sculpted from an ancient plane tree.  You can also dine outside on the terrace, surrounded by flowers and with views over the gardens.  We use local produce and fresh vegetables from our garden whenever we can.

A generous breakfast offers fresh bread, pastries, juice, home made jams, cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt with coffee, tea or chocolate.  Special requests can also be attended to.

Charme

This romantic bedroom is decorated in antiqued ivory tones.  The comfortable 1.60 cm bed is dressed with Egyptian cotton linen and lots of cushions and pillows.

The large en-suite bathroom is equipped with a bath tub with shower, large basin and wc, an armchair and plenty of storage space.  Generous towels, soaps and smellies keep you feeling luxurious.

You can make a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy wi-fi internet access.

Windows overlook the garden terrace with its newly planted charmille, shaded in summer by a majestic horse chestnut tree.  Charme offers complete tranquility….. just apart from bird song in the morning.

Wistaria

This large, elegant bedroom is decorated in classical style with tones of blue and ivory.  Massive oak beams oversee the comfortable 1.40 cm bed, which is dressed with Egyptian cotton linen and plenty of cushions and pillows.  Large windows overlook the gardens and a pair of huge, twining wisteria trees.

A comfy sofa and internet access add to your comfort.

The corridor outside, furnished with a huge library of books and magazines, provides access to your private shower room/wc.   Generous towels, soaps and smellies are a given.
